Is it bad to sleep with makeup on?

Sometimes after a late night out, I'm just too tired to remove my makeup and sleep with it on. My sister always scolds me, saying it's really bad for the skin. How bad is it really to sleep with makeup on, like just once in a while?

Yes, it is super bad for your skin! 😱 It blocks your pores and can lead to major breakouts and dullness by morning. No matter how tired you are, at least use a quick makeup wipe before hitting the pillow! 💖

I recently had a nasty eye infection because I slept with heavy mascara and eyeliner on after a wedding. The doctor told me the makeup trapped dirt in my tear ducts. It took a week of medicated drops to clear up, so please wash it off.

I can only speak from my own experience, but whenever I lazy out and sleep with foundation on, I wake up with painful pimples the next day. My skin just feels completely suffocated. Now I make sure to wash my face, it just feels so much better.

I get it, sometimes we are just too exhausted after a party to do a full double-cleanse. But trust me, your skin needs to breathe and heal at night. Keep some micellar water and cotton pads right next to your bed for those lazy nights.

Yes, it is really bad because it clogs pores and causes premature aging and acne. Always wash your face before sleeping.

My daughter used to do this often during her college exams and ended up with terrible acne. I bought her a gentle foaming cleanser and made it a habit for her to wash her face every single night. Her skin cleared up beautifully after that.
