Is it bad to sleep with a lamp on?

I'm a student and sometimes I fall asleep while studying, with my table lamp still on. My mother always scolds me saying it's bad for my eyes and sleep quality. Is there any truth to this about sleeping with a lamp on?

I used to keep my study lamp on because I was scared of the dark, but it honestly ruined my sleep quality. I felt so tired during college the next day. Now I just use a tiny, dim night bulb plug-in near the floor and it works much better.

A dark room is essential for proper melatonin production, which is just as important as having a clean, healthy diet. If you are eating light, healthy meals at night but still waking up tired, the light from your lamp might be disrupting your deep sleep cycles. Try a very dim warm light if you can't sleep in pitch dark.

My grandmother always insisted on keeping a small brass lamp lit for positive energy, but my family doctor advised that bright lights disrupt sleep patterns. I found a middle ground by using a very low-wattage, warm zero-watt bulb in the corner. It doesn't disturb my sleep and keeps the room slightly lit.

I tried so many home remedies like chamomile tea and warm milk to fix my sleep, but nothing worked until I turned off the bright bedside lamp. Your brain needs complete darkness to rest properly. If you really need some light, keep a small candle-bulbed lamp in the hallway instead of the bedroom.

Why waste electricity and disturb your sleep with a big lamp? If you need light to find the washroom at night, just stick a cheap motion-sensor LED light near the floor. It only turns on when you stand up and doesn't affect your sleep.

With PCOS, hormone balance is already tricky, and poor sleep from a bright room can worsen stress levels. I started using a soft eye mask instead of keeping the lamp on, and it really helped me get deeper rest. It might not work for everyone, but it is a simple thing you can try.

I used to sleep with bright lights on because of high anxiety, and I ignored my chronic fatigue for a year thinking it was just work stress. It turned out to be a major sleep disorder. Please get your health checked by a proper doctor if you are constantly tired, don't ignore it.

Haan na, bright light mein toh bilkul thik se neend nahi aati, morning mein headache hota hai. It is better to use a very small night lamp which has a warm yellow glow. Red or yellow light is much better than white light for sleeping.

For proper muscle recovery after workouts, deep sleep is absolutely mandatory. Bright lights in the room prevent your body from entering deep sleep states. I suggest turning off the lamp and keeping your phone away at least 30 minutes before hitting the bed.

Haan yaar, fully dark room mein jo maza hai sone ka, wo lamp on rakh ke kahan! If you are scared of total darkness, just keep the bedroom door slightly open so the hallway light filters in. Trust me, you will sleep much better.

In our younger days, we slept under the stars with no artificial lights, and our health was robust. This habit of having bright lamps and screens near the bed is what causes modern sleep issues. Go back to natural darkness, your body will thank you as you grow older.

For better sleep naturally, try a quick foot massage with some warm coconut oil before bed, it really calms the mind. Keeping a bright lamp on is generally bad for your eyes and brain rest. However, if you are having severe, ongoing insomnia, please consult a specialist instead of just changing lights.
