Is it bad to sleep on your back while pregnant?

I'm pregnant and naturally find it easiest to sleep on my back. Everyone around me keeps saying it's very bad for the baby, especially later on. Is there a big risk associated with sleeping on my back while pregnant?

Yes, sleeping flat on your back after the second trimester can compress the vena cava, reducing blood flow. I recommend buying a long bolster or placing a thick pillow under your right side to keep your body tilted slightly to the left.

Haan, sote waqt back ke bal letna avoid karna chahiye, especially jab pet badhne lage. Left side sona sabse safe hota hai baby ke liye na. Apne piche ek takia laga kar soya karo taaki nind me palat na jao.

My wife used to get breathless trying to sleep flat in her eighth month. The doctor told her to sleep on her side, and my job was to pile up all the pillows in the house around her. Do yourself a favor and stick to the side-lying positions!

Medical guidelines generally advise against flat back-sleeping in late pregnancy as it can affect oxygen supply to the baby. If you wake up on your back, there is no need to worry. Just gently roll over to your left side and keep a pillow between your knees.

Hey, don't stress too much if you occasionally wake up on your back. It happens to everyone! Just put a fluffy pillow under one side of your hip so you are slightly tilted even when you roll back. You got this!
