Is intermittent fasting good for diabetics?

I have type 2 diabetes, and my doctor always stresses about managing my diet. I heard about intermittent fasting from a relative. Is intermittent fasting a good approach for people with diabetes, or is it risky?

In our family, elders suggest fasting for overall health, but diabetes is a different matter. My husband's doctor strictly warned us that long hours of fasting can cause sudden sugar drops, which is dangerous. Please consult your physician before changing your food schedule.

I was actually reading up on this because my dad has diabetes. Some articles say it helps with insulin resistance, while others say it is risky because of hypoglycemia. It is honestly so confusing to figure out what is right online.

As a mother, I have to be extremely careful with my teenage son's daily meals and glucose levels. From my experience, strict fasting is very tricky for diabetics because their body needs a stable, timed flow of energy. Please don't start this without speaking to a pediatric endocrinologist or your specialist.

It can be good if done under supervision, but safety first! Keeping a track of your blood sugar levels throughout the day is super important. Wish you the absolute best on your health journey!

Haan na, diabetes patients have to be so careful about everything. Fasting for 16 hours might sound trendy, but health comes first na. It is better to eat small, frequent meals rather than keeping the stomach empty for too long, just to avoid any sudden weakness.

Instead of long, stressful fasts that strain a diabetic body, I have found that light yogic breathing and gentle lifestyle changes work wonders. Calm, steady habits keep the body in balance. It is always best to align your diet with what your physician prescribes.

I have been managing type 2 diabetes for over ten years now. I tried fasting once, but my sugar levels crashed to a dangerous 65, which felt terrible. I highly advise checking with your doctor because they might need to adjust your medication dose if you decide to fast.

Listen, don't stress too much about these internet diet trends, yaar. If you have diabetes, your body's needs are very unique compared to others. Just have a honest chat with your doctor and let them decide what routine fits you best.

If you try intermittent fasting, you will need to do regular blood sugar tests to monitor your response, which can add up to your monthly medical expenses. Make a proper budget for a glucometer and strips before starting. It is always safer to plan these things practically.

I totally get it, managing diabetes is a daily struggle and you just want to find something that helps. But fasting can sometimes backfire and cause severe fatigue. Please be gentle with yourself and take your doctor's advice before trying any extreme changes.
