Is insulin resistance diabetes?

I recently got my blood tests back, and the report mentioned 'insulin resistance'. I'm quite worried about this. Does insulin resistance mean I have diabetes now, or is it something different?

I totally get it, these medical terms can be so confusing. Rest assured, insulin resistance is not diabetes yet, it is just an early warning sign that your body needs some lifestyle changes.

Ho na, people think both are same but they are different. Insulin resistance is like the first step, and if we don't control it, then it can become diabetes later.

No, it is not diabetes. I had insulin resistance last year due to bad lifestyle. I fixed my diet, worked out, and got my levels back to normal. It is completely reversible.

They are different, but insulin resistance is a major risk factor. It is highly recommended to get your HbA1c and fasting insulin tested to check your exact status.

Haan, bilkul ghabrao mat na, dono alag hain. Insulin resistance means your body is working harder to manage sugar. Bas meetha thoda kam karo aur exercise shuru karo.

No, it is not diabetes. It is just a precursor, meaning you can still prevent diabetes from happening.

Please don't ignore it. I thought insulin resistance was harmless and ended up with full-blown type 2 diabetes and nerve pain. Go to an endocrinologist and get a proper treatment plan.

As someone with PCOS, I deal with insulin resistance daily. While it is not diabetes, it requires constant management so it doesn't progress. Take care and consult your doctor regularly.

I just got my reports and my insulin sensitivity has improved so much. It is definitely not diabetes, you can completely turn it around with consistent effort.

I was diagnosed with this too. It basically means our body's cells aren't responding well to insulin. A few tweaks in diet and regular walks really helped me manage it.
