Is inflammatory arthritis the same as rheumatoid arthritis?

My aunt has been suffering from severe joint pain for a while now. Her doctor said 'inflammatory arthritis', but another family member mentioned 'rheumatoid arthritis'. Are these conditions the same or distinct? I'm trying to understand her condition better.

Ho na, people get confused, but they are not exactly the same. Rheumatoid is just one type of inflammatory arthritis. My aunt has it and her doctor explained this to us very simply.

No, they are different. Inflammatory arthritis is the main category, and rheumatoid is a specific autoimmune type under it. I had to research this a lot when my dad got diagnosed.

Actually, rheumatoid is a type of inflammatory arthritis, but there are other types too like psoriatic arthritis. My son has joint issues, so we have to be very careful with his treatments. Please get a proper diagnosis from a rheumatologist.

It is like saying all pizzas are fast food, but not all fast food is pizza! Rheumatoid is just one type of inflammatory joint issue. I try to eat anti-inflammatory foods like ginger and turmeric to keep my joints happy.

Listen, don't mix up the terms and stress yourself. Inflammatory arthritis is a broad group, and rheumatoid is just one of its parts. Go to a proper specialist and they will tell you exactly what you have.
