Is ice cream bad for diabetics?

My husband has diabetes, and he loves ice cream. We try to control his sugar, but sometimes he sneaks a small bit. Is even a little bit bad for him, or can he have it in moderation?

Do not trust anyone who says sugar-free ice cream is completely safe for diabetics without seeing your blood sugar reports. It still has carbs and fats that can spike your glucose. Always consult your doctor or endocrinologist first.

Actually yaar, normal ice cream is packed with sugar, so it definitely spikes your sugar levels instantly. If you are craving it badly, maybe try those low-carb sugar-free options but check your levels after eating, okay?

My husband has diabetes, and we tried making homemade unsweetened almond milk ice cream, which worked quite well without raising his sugar much. Regular store-bought ice cream is definitely bad as it has too much processed sugar. Try healthy home alternatives instead.

Beta, sugar is like poison for diabetic patients. Ice cream has both sugar and heavy cream which is not good for your health. If you feel like eating something sweet, have a small piece of apple or a few almonds instead.

Since PCOS is closely linked to insulin resistance, I have to be very careful with sweets. Regular ice cream definitely causes a sharp insulin spike. If you have diabetes, it is best to avoid it or check with your doctor on how to manage occasional cravings.

Regular ice cream has a high glycemic index and will cause rapid spikes in blood sugar. While there are diabetic-friendly, sugar-free ice creams in the market, they should still be consumed in extreme moderation. Your doctor's advice on your daily carb limit is the best guide.
