Is ibuprofen metabolized in the liver?

My doctor prescribed ibuprofen for my knee pain. I also have some liver issues, so I'm always careful about medicines. I wanted to know if ibuprofen is processed by the liver, and if it could be a problem for me.

Actually, most pain relievers do work this way through our system. It is normal to wonder about these things. Just take it with food and don't take it too often, you will be totally fine.

Beta, these English medicines are processed by our organs only. Ibuprofen goes through the liver and kidneys, so please don't pop these pills for small aches. Try a hot water bag or a little haldi doodh first for body pain.

Actually, it's mostly processed by the kidneys, unlike paracetamol which relies heavily on the liver. Still, any OTC medicine puts some load on your liver. Don't abuse it and you're good to go.

Yes, it is metabolized by the liver, but a major chunk is also processed by the kidneys. Honestly, if you have any existing liver or stomach issues, it is always better to ask your doc for an alternative. Just be careful with the dosage.

Ibuprofen is broken down by the liver, but it's largely filtered out through your kidneys. This is why we advise patients with kidney issues or stomach ulcers to avoid it. Keep your daily dose low and always drink plenty of water.
