Is ibuprofen filtered through kidneys or liver?

My father takes ibuprofen sometimes for his knee pain, but he has some kidney issues. I was wondering if this medicine gets processed by the kidneys or the liver mainly, just to be sure it's safe for him.

Your kidneys do most of the heavy lifting for filtering out ibuprofen, so treat them nicely! Don't make them work overtime by popping these pills like they are sweet mints, haha.

I used to worry so much about this and thought I was damaging my organs. My doctor explained that while the liver metabolizes some, it is primarily cleared by the kidneys. As long as you drink water and don't overuse it, it is totally fine.

It is mostly processed and filtered through your kidneys! So if you ever need to take it, make sure you are drinking lots of water to help your body flush it out easily! 👍

These chemical formulations put pressure on our delicate kidneys to filter them out. Practicing clean living, drinking copper-pot water, and keeping our organs relaxed through daily pranayama can help the body detoxify much better naturally.

Yes, it goes through the kidneys. As someone managing diabetes, I have to be extremely careful because our kidneys are already under stress, so my doctor always tells me to avoid ibuprofen completely and check kidney function regularly.
