Is hydroxyzine good for sleep?

Been struggling with sleep for the past few months, constantly tossing and turning. My colleague told me hydroxyzine helps. Can it really improve sleep?

My teenager was prescribed this for extreme anxiety and sleeplessness during board exams. It did help him calm down and sleep, but he felt very groggy the next morning. Make sure to consult your doctor before using it, especially to know the right time to take it.

It can help you sleep because it causes drowsiness, but using medicines for sleep daily is not a good habit. I used to struggle with sleep and found that warm chamomile tea or a cup of warm milk with turmeric before bed helped naturally. Do check with a doctor before taking any sedative pill.

Please do not take sleeping pills or allergy meds for sleep based on what people say online. Hydroxyzine is a prescription drug and can have side effects or interact with other medicines. Go to a certified doctor and get a proper prescription.

It is actually an antihistamine, but doctors prescribe it off-label for sleep because it makes you drowsy. I tracked my sleep cycles on my smartwatch when taking it, and while deep sleep went up, my morning recovery score was low due to hang-over feelings. Use it only under a doctor's guidance.

I was given this when my allergy was keeping me awake all night, and it really helped me sleep. But honestly, it made me so sleepy the next afternoon that I couldn't focus on my work. If you take it, ensure you have a clear schedule the next day!

It works for sleep but the morning hangover is bad, which can affect your office work. If you have a busy day ahead, this might make you slow and drowsy. Speak to a doctor for a proper dosage that won't ruin your next day's productivity.

Yes, it does help with sleep, especially if anxiety is keeping you up. But don't make it a habit, okay? It is meant for short-term use, so talk to your doctor and see if you can work on a better sleep routine instead of relying on tablets.
