Is himalayan salt good for diabetics?

I have diabetes and I'm always looking for healthier alternatives in my diet. My daughter recently brought home some Himalayan salt, saying it's better than regular salt. I wanted to check if Himalayan salt is actually good for diabetics.

When I was trying to manage my blood sugar, my doctor said Himalayan salt is fine, just like regular salt, but the quantity is what matters. Don't think it's a magic cure. For diabetics, reducing overall sodium intake from all sources, especially processed foods, is more important than the type of salt. Always check with your doc first.

Being someone with PCOS, I've learned that dietary advice needs to be very specific and careful. Himalayan salt is okay, but it's still salt, so moderation is key for anyone, especially diabetics. It's best to consult a dietitian who specializes in diabetes to get tailored advice, rather than relying on general tips.

Oh, this is an interesting question! I always try to pick healthier options. While Himalayan salt has more minerals, I'd still be worried about the sodium content for a diabetic. It's so tricky navigating all these food choices. I'd definitely double-check with a doctor or a proper nutritionist to be super safe.

Honestly, Himalayan salt is just salt with some trace minerals. It's not a magical solution for diabetics. The key is to control total sodium intake, regardless of the type of salt. Stick to your doctor's recommendations for diet and medication. Don't complicate it.

From my personal experience, my family members with diabetes use Himalayan salt sometimes, but they're very careful about how much they use. It hasn't caused any issues for them, but they also follow all their doctor's instructions strictly regarding diet and medication. It's really about overall sodium intake, not just the type of salt.

Namaste! For diabetics, the main concern with salt, whether it's Himalayan or common table salt, is the sodium content. High sodium can affect blood pressure, which is often a concern for diabetics. So, yes, it can be used, but in strict moderation as advised by a doctor. Don't rely on it for special benefits.
