Is high rdw a sign of cancer?

I recently had a blood test and saw that my RDW (Red Cell Distribution Width) was high. I looked it up online and some articles mentioned it can be linked to cancer, which really worried me. Is high RDW actually a sign of cancer?

Beta, when my child's RDW was high, I was so worried. But the doctor explained it's often linked to iron deficiency, B12 deficiency, or even some minor infection. It's not usually a direct sign of cancer. The practical step is to get proper tests to find the deficiency and treat it. Don't panic.

I just got my blood test results and my RDW is high. I immediately Googled it and now I'm super anxious. Is this really something to worry about? Has anyone else had high RDW and it turned out to be nothing serious?

High RDW means there's a variation in the size of your red blood cells. For diabetics, maintaining good blood health is important. It's not a primary sign of cancer, but often indicates conditions like anemia, nutrient deficiencies (iron, B12), or even inflammation. A doctor needs to evaluate this in context with other blood parameters and your overall health. Always follow medical advice.

High RDW, huh? Sounds like your red blood cells are having a size diversity party! 😂 Kidding aside, it's usually not cancer. More like iron or B12 deficiency, which can totally mess with your energy levels and make you crave junk food. Maybe time for some iron-rich spinach and beetroot, or see a doc for supplements!

Hey, high RDW can sound alarming, but it's generally not a direct sign of cancer. It often indicates that your red blood cells are varying in size, which can be due to iron deficiency, B12 deficiency, or other types of anemia. It's important to get it fully evaluated by a doctor with other blood tests to pinpoint the exact cause. Take care and don't worry too much.

Arre beta, don't scare yourself with such thoughts. High RDW is usually a simple thing like you are not eating enough iron or B12, or maybe you had some infection. We never had these fancy tests in our time, but these are common things. Just go to your family doctor, they will tell you what to do.

With PCOS, we often have other underlying issues, so I'm always cautious. High RDW usually points to anemia or nutrient deficiencies, not directly cancer. It just means your red blood cells are not uniform in size. It definitely needs a doctor's consultation to check for iron or B12 deficiency and treat it properly. Don't self-diagnose based on one parameter.

Hello! High RDW is a common finding in many people and is usually related to different types of anemia or nutrient deficiencies, like iron or B12. It's not typically a sign of cancer, but it's your body giving a signal. Please see a doctor who can look at your full blood count and suggest further tests if needed. Take it one step at a time.

High RDW often points to deficiencies that are usually simple to fix, like iron or B12. It's important to get the right diagnostic tests, which might cost a bit, but it's a necessary expense. Don't worry too much about cancer from this, focus on getting a clear diagnosis from your doctor to plan for the right treatment.

I had high RDW once, and my doc said it was because I was barely eating any green veggies and my iron was low. Not cancer, thankfully! So yeah, usually means some deficiency. Get your blood work properly checked and listen to your doctor.

Nah, high RDW usually means you're probably deficient in iron or B12, which is pretty common. My friend had it and it was just anemia, easily fixed with supplements. Don't jump to the worst conclusion, just get it checked by a doc.
