Is hepatitis b hereditary?

My doctor told me that hepatitis B is not inherited, but my dadi had it, and now my chacha also has it. I'm a bit confused, is it truly not hereditary?

Oh, I totally get why you'd ask this. When I hear about health conditions, my first thought is often 'will my family get this too?'. It's a very natural concern, especially with something like Hepatitis B.

Good question! I was researching this recently too. From what I found, Hepatitis B is a viral infection, so it's not inherited from your parents like some genetic traits. It's more about exposure to the virus.

I'm still trying to understand all this. So, if it's not hereditary, does that mean it only spreads through certain ways, and not through families directly? I hope I'm asking this correctly.

Nah yaar, actually it's not hereditary. Hepatitis B is a virus, you know? Like, it spreads through blood and body fluids. It's not something that gets passed down through genes, so don't confuse it with genetic conditions.

From a general health perspective, things like nutrition and regular workouts build immunity. But for something specific like Hepatitis B, which isn't hereditary, understanding its transmission is more important. Consult a doctor for accurate info on how it spreads.
