Is heat stroke an actual stroke?

Someone at work got dizzy and collapsed from the heat, and they said it was 'heat stroke'. My grandfather had a paralytic stroke last year. Is heat stroke an actual stroke, or is it just a saying for feeling very unwell from the heat?

No, it's not. A brain stroke is a cardiovascular or neurological issue involving blood supply to the brain. Heat stroke is extreme overheating of the body, usually due to environmental exposure. Both are emergencies, but they are totally different medically.

Actually no, yaar. The name is super confusing but a heat stroke is just when your body gets way too hot in the sun and can't cool down. It is not like a brain stroke, but still, you need to go to the doctor immediately if it happens.

It is not a neurological stroke, but please do not take it lightly. My uncle suffered organ damage because we delayed taking him to the hospital, thinking it was just normal summer weakness. Please see a doctor immediately if someone shows severe symptoms.

No, a heat stroke is not a brain stroke; it is severe body overheating. Both require urgent hospital care.

No, it is a severe heat illness, not a vascular brain stroke. During summers, eating light, water-rich vegetarian foods like cucumbers and melons helps keep your body cool, but remember that a true heat stroke requires proper emergency medical care.
