Is heat good for kidney pain?

My uncle has kidney stones and experiences a lot of pain. He uses a hot water bag sometimes. Is applying heat beneficial for kidney pain?

In my experience, if the pain is actually from the kidneys due to stones or an infection, heat will only provide minor temporary comfort. It is very important to get an ultrasound scan and seek proper medical treatment immediately instead of waiting.

No, heat is not a solution for kidney pain. Please go to a doctor immediately and get an ultrasound done to check for stones or infection.

I have this dull, heavy pain on one side of my lower back and I am so scared it might be a kidney stone. Has anyone else used a heating bag for this, or did you have to go to the hospital right away?

Look, kidney pain is not a simple muscle pull that a heating pad will cure. If you have severe lower back pain with fever or burning during urination, rush to a doctor immediately before the infection gets worse.

Bro, if your kidney actually hurts, don't play around with hot water bottles. Kidney pain can be due to stones or severe UTI, so u need to drink lots of water and see a doc ASAP for antibiotics or scans.
