Is heartburn a sign of a heart attack?

My father often gets heartburn, and I've heard some scary things about it being linked to heart problems. Is heartburn a possible sign of a heart attack?

Honestly, don't take any chances with chest discomfort thinking it is just acidity. My uncle went to Max Hospital last year with what we thought was gas, but it turned out to be a mild block. Please consult a doctor immediately and get an ECG done to be absolutely sure.

I am also quite scared about this lately because my father gets severe chest burning after dinner. Is there any specific symptom that separates simple gas from something serious? I am always confused and worried if we should run to the clinic.

Beta, if it is simple heat from food, sipping cold milk or chewing a little saunf can help cool the stomach down. But listen to your body carefully. If the burning spreads to your left arm or jaw, or if you feel breathless, forget all home remedies and go to a hospital straight away.

Look, if this happens every time you eat spicy food, it might just be acidity, but don't play guessing games. Keep a simple antacid gel at home for quick relief, but if you feel sudden sweating or pressure like someone is sitting on your chest, call an ambulance immediately. It is better to spend money on a clinic visit than regret later.

I used to get horrible chest burning and thought it was just my thyroid medicine acting up, but my doctor made me go through full cardiac checks to be safe. It is so important to get regular blood work and checkups. Please go to a proper clinic and let them run the basic tests first.

Hey, just a quick tip from my experience working in healthcare. A real cardiac issue usually comes with pressure, chest tightness, sweating, or pain going to your shoulder, which doesn't change when you sit up. Heartburn usually stays in the center and might get worse when lying down. But please go to an ER if you are in doubt.

As a diabetic, I have to be extremely careful because we can have silent heart issues without heavy pain. I never ignore any burning or tightness in my chest. If you have high blood sugar, please don't assume it is just stomach acid, contact your doctor right now.
