Is heart attack considered accidental death?

My insurance agent was explaining different coverage types. I asked him about accidental death benefits, and he gave some examples. Is a death caused by a heart attack usually considered an accidental death for insurance purposes?

Nahi yaar, heart attack ko accidental death nahi maante. Yeh toh internal health issue hai na. Accidental toh tab hota hai jab bahar se koi chot lage, jaise road accident.

If you are looking at insurance claims, it is not an accident. You need a regular life insurance policy or critical illness cover to get claims for heart attacks. Simple terms are best to avoid confusion.

I was checking my family's policy details and got so confused. Is it true that standard accident policies won't pay for heart attacks? Has anyone else faced issues with this?

Do not rely on online advice for insurance or medical definitions. Check your specific policy wording or consult a financial advisor to understand what covers heart attacks.

No, it is classified as natural death due to cardiovascular disease. In the medical field, we treat it as an illness. Accidental policies only cover external trauma.

No, it's not accidental. From a legal and insurance perspective, it's a medical event. Make sure you buy a comprehensive term plan rather than just personal accident insurance.

I totally get it, when it happens so suddenly out of nowhere, it feels exactly like a tragic accident. But medically and legally, it is treated as a natural illness-related death.
