Is hashimoto thyroid disease?

My cousin was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I've heard the name but don't really know what it is. Is Hashimoto's considered a type of thyroid disease?

Yes, it is an autoimmune thyroid disease. Don't worry, the blood test for anti-TPO antibodies is not very expensive. Get a package deal from a local lab to check your TSH, T3, T4, and antibodies together.

Yes, it sounds like a Japanese movie but it's actually just your immune system getting too excited and attacking your thyroid. It is very common and totally manageable with a tiny pill every morning.

Yes, it is indeed an autoimmune thyroid condition. While my elders suggested taking coriander seed water, I highly recommend consulting an endocrinologist to get the correct hormone replacement therapy.

Yes, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is a chronic condition. Please get a proper diagnosis through thyroid antibody tests first. Keep checking with your doctor regularly to keep your dosage adjusted safely.

Yes, it is. Along with your regular medication, focusing on an anti-inflammatory diet and regular weight training can really help manage Hashimoto's symptoms like fatigue and slow metabolism. Keep active!

I ignored my initial thyroid symptoms and it led to severe fatigue and joint pain later. Hashimoto's requires proper medical attention. Please see an expert doctor and get your hormone levels checked immediately.

My endocrinologist explained that Hashimoto's is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. Your body produces antibodies that gradually destroy the thyroid gland. It requires long-term thyroid hormone monitoring and management.
