Is gum disease common?

I've heard many people complain about gum problems. Is gum disease a very common issue that most people face at some point?

It is extremely common, almost every second person has some mild form of it. A basic dental scaling cost around 1000 to 1500 rupees in my city, which is much cheaper than waiting and paying for expensive root canals later. Plan a budget for a yearly checkup, it saves a lot of money.

Oh, trust me, almost everyone I know has had some bleeding gums at some point! It is super common so don't stress too much about it. Just start brushing twice and book a casual dentist visit when you get time this week.

It is common but please don't take it lightly because I lost two teeth due to neglected periodontitis. What started as simple bleeding became a major bone loss issue. Please go to a proper periodontist before it gets worse.

Haan, standard problem hai fast food aur bad habits ki wajah se. The simplest solution is to use a soft toothbrush, rinse your mouth after every meal, and use a mouthwash. A quick visit to a local government hospital dental wing is also very pocket-friendly and effective.

I can only tell you what happened with me. My dentist told me during a routine visit that almost 80 percent of adults have some gum inflammation. After a normal cleaning and switching to dental floss, my gums completely stopped bleeding in two weeks.

Yes, a lot of people face this because of modern food habits. Doing warm water salt rinses twice a day or applying a little turmeric paste helps a lot with mild swelling. But if your gums are constantly bleeding or painful, definitely see a dentist.
