Is guanabana good for diabetes?
My husband has diabetes and someone in our family mentioned this fruit, guanabana. They said it's really good for sugar levels. I'm wondering if we should try giving it to him.

I completely understand the anxiety of trying to find the perfect foods to control sugar levels, I used to worry about every single fruit too. Guanabana is low-to-medium in glycemic index, so it is generally okay in moderation, but please don't stress too much and consult your doctor to be safe.
As a mother who manages her teenager's health daily, I would say guanabana can be given as an occasional treat because of its fiber. But please monitor their blood sugar levels after eating it to see how their body reacts, and always keep your doctor in the loop.
I cannot comment on the medical side of it, but in my personal experience, eating a small portion of guanabana as an afternoon snack didn't cause any major spike in my daily sugar readings. I always make sure not to overeat any fruit.
I am quite new to learning about diabetic diets as my father was recently diagnosed. Is guanabana easily available in Indian markets, and does it have a very sweet taste that might raise sugar?
Guanabana contains fiber which is good for digestion and slowing down sugar absorption. But if you want to manage diabetes effectively, pair your diet with regular strength training and daily walks. Keeping active makes a huge difference.
