Is green tea good for diabetics?

My doctor advised me to make some dietary changes since I'm pre-diabetic. I've heard green tea can be beneficial. Is green tea good for diabetics, or should I be cautious?

I always overthink my dad's diet because of his diabetes, and I got so worried if the caffeine in green tea would affect his sleep or BP. But research actually says green tea is very safe and helps with insulin. Just make sure they don't drink it too late in the evening.

I can only speak from my own journey. I have had diabetes for 8 years and I replaced my evening sugary chai with green tea. My fasting blood sugar levels did show a slight improvement over a few months, and it makes me feel lighter.

In our household, we are very fond of traditional herb decoctions. Green tea is good for health, but my father's doctor advised that it cannot replace his daily dose of insulin. It is a good supportive drink, but trust your doctor first.

Yes, green tea is highly beneficial for diabetics as long as you drink it without adding any sweetener.

I have been managing my Type 2 diabetes successfully for a decade. Green tea is definitely a good habit, but don't expect miracles. Use it to replace high-calorie snacks and sugary drinks, and always test your sugar levels to see what works for your body.

Please be careful. I tried to manage my early diabetic symptoms with just green tea and home remedies, which led to a bad sugar spike and nerve issues later. Green tea is fine as a beverage, but please see a doctor and stick to your prescribed medical routine.

My doctor took away my sweets, my samosas, and my normal milk tea. Now my only friend is green tea. It is a bit sad to drink it without sugar, but hey, it keeps my sugar numbers happy, so I can't complain!

Clinical evidence suggests that the antioxidants in green tea, particularly EGCG, can lower fasting glucose. However, diabetes management requires a comprehensive plan including proper medication, diet, and exercise. Always consult your endocrinologist for specific dietary limits.

I was just reading up on diabetes diets for a college project and saw that green tea has catechins which help improve insulin sensitivity. It seems like a super easy habit to adopt if you are pre-diabetic or diabetic.

I have tried jamun powder, methi water, and green tea too. Green tea is definitely the most refreshing and easiest to drink. It helps digestion after heavy meals and keeps you away from sugary cravings. Give it a try, it's very helpful.

I am just starting to plan a diet for my diabetic mother. I heard green tea is good, but is it okay if we add a drop of lemon juice to it, or will that affect her sugar? Sorry if this is a silly question.

Actually, switching to green tea is the easiest change you can make, yaar. It has zero calories and doesn't mess with your insulin at all. Just make sure you don't add honey thinking it's a healthy sugar—sugar is sugar.
