Is green light good for sleep?

I often struggle with falling asleep, and I read somewhere that green light might help. Has anyone tried this? Is green light actually good for sleep?

I used to panic when I couldn't sleep and started trying all kinds of colored bulbs, thinking my insomnia was permanent. Honestly, green light is actually quite soothing compared to blue or white lights, but a completely dark room is still the best. Don't stress too much, your sleep will get back on track.

While some studies suggest narrow-band green light can promote relaxation and reduce migraine intensity, any bright light close to bedtime can disrupt melatonin production. It is highly recommended to consult a sleep specialist if you suffer from chronic insomnia, rather than relying solely on color therapy.

When I went to the sleep clinic at Medanta, the doctor clearly explained that maintaining sleep hygiene—like keeping screens away 1 hour before bed—is way more effective than any colored lights. Ask your doctor clearly before investing in expensive green light therapy lamps.

Don't waste money buying fancy green LED sleep lamps online, they are heavily overpriced. If you really want to try it, just buy a cheap 10-rupee green night bulb from your local electrical shop. If it doesn't help you sleep, at least you haven't wasted your hard-earned budget.

I don't know much about green lights, but I do know that having a light, easily digestible vegetarian dinner like khichdi at least three hours before bed does wonders for your sleep. Avoid heavy spices at night and your body will relax naturally.

My mother always advised us to chant or read a book under a dim yellow lamp before sleeping. However, my doctor mentioned that keeping the bedroom completely dark is scientifically the best for melatonin. You can try a very low green light if you dislike total darkness, but trust your doctor's advice on sleep hygiene.

I actually bought a green nightlight because my room was too dark and scary, and honestly, it is so much better than white light! It doesn't hurt my eyes when I wake up in the middle of the night. It's a nice, cozy vibe if you want to try it.
