Is gout a form of arthritis?

My husband has been having joint pain and his doctor mentioned gout. I thought gout was a separate condition, but now I'm hearing it's a type of arthritis. Is gout really a form of arthritis?

Yes, gout is indeed a type of arthritis. It usually targets the big toe first and causes a lot of pain and swelling. Please take care and eat simple food with less purine.

I was researching this because my father's foot started hurting badly and I got so worried. Yes, gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis caused by uric acid buildup. It is best to consult a doctor quickly to keep it from getting worse.

Yes, gout is arthritis. When uric acid increases, it crystallizes in the joints. The best practical step is to limit paneer, mushrooms, and alcohol, and get your blood report checked.

Yes, it is a very painful form of arthritis. Along with doctor's medicines, drinking plenty of water and eating less red meat or rich lentils like rajma can help manage the uric acid buildup.
