Is gluten free pizza good for diabetics?

I'm diabetic and really crave pizza sometimes. My daughter suggested trying gluten-free pizza, thinking it might be healthier. Is it actually good for diabetics, or just a marketing gimmick?

I was researching this for my uncle and found that gluten-free pizza crusts often have even more carbs and less fiber than normal crusts to keep them from breaking. It doesn't seem like a safe choice for diabetes.

My sugar levels shot up to 350 after I ate a gluten-free pizza because the base was made of pure tapioca starch. Please consult your doctor or a real clinical dietitian before eating these modified junk foods.

Babu, these pizzas are not good for sugar patients at all, whether they say gluten-free or not. Eat our simple home-cooked roti and seasonal vegetables, that is the best medicine for your health.

It is tough to control cravings, but gluten-free pizza can still spike your sugar quite a bit. Maybe try to have a tiny slice along with a big bowl of salad to keep it balanced.

As someone who sees sugar charts daily, I suggest avoiding any pizza base. Gluten-free ones are usually high-glycemic. If you really crave pizza, maybe try a homemade one with a very thin ragi or oats base occasionally.
