Is gluten free pasta ok for diabetics?

My husband has diabetes and he really misses eating pasta. I saw some gluten-free options in the store, and was wondering if that would be a better choice for him. Will it affect his blood sugar much?

I log my meals on my tracker app, and I noticed that gluten-free pasta actually has a higher glycemic load than whole-wheat pasta because of the rice and potato starch. If you eat it, keep the portion small and pair it with lots of fiber.

Be kind to your body and don't worry too much about these modern food rules. Eat fresh, simple, home-cooked food in small amounts with a calm mind. Take care of yourself.

Along with managing sugar, we must keep an eye on blood pressure. These processed pastas often have high sodium levels in their sauces. Focus on a simple low-salt, low-carb diet and regular doctor checkups.

I know how stressful it is to check every food label when you are diabetic. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. Gluten-free pasta isn't automatically safe, so don't feel bad if it causes a spike—it happens to many of us.

First wheat was good, now wheat is bad. Honestly, trying to find diabetic-friendly pasta is just too tiring. I think I'll stick to my simple boiled vegetables and save myself the headache.
