Is gestational diabetes caused by the father?

My cousin just found out she has gestational diabetes. Her husband is worried he might have caused it. Is gestational diabetes caused by the father? We are all a bit confused.

Arre nahi ho na, gestational diabetes is not caused by the father. It happens because of the mother's hormones changing during pregnancy. Haan, genetic factors *can* play a role from either parent in general diabetes risk, but gestational is specific to the pregnant person.

No, gestational diabetes is not caused by the father. It's a condition related to the mother's body during pregnancy.

Absolutely not. Gestational diabetes is a condition specific to the pregnant woman, caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy that affect her insulin sensitivity. While a family history of diabetes (from either side) can be a risk factor, the father does not directly cause gestational diabetes in the mother. This is something clearly explained by doctors during antenatal visits.

Haha, no, man, dads are already blamed for so much, let's not add gestational diabetes to the list! It's related to the hormones and insulin resistance in the mother's body during pregnancy. Trust me, if dads caused it, I think we'd know by now and be running even further from responsibility! 😴

From managing diabetes for many years, I can tell you that gestational diabetes is primarily a maternal condition. It's about how the pregnant woman's body handles insulin during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. The father's genetics might influence general diabetes risk, but not directly cause gestational diabetes in the mother.

Based on all the health apps and research I've seen, gestational diabetes is a condition that arises in the mother during pregnancy due to her body's hormonal response, not because of the father. Factors like maternal weight, age, and family history are more relevant. Track your health, understand the facts!

This is a misconception. Gestational diabetes develops in the mother due to pregnancy hormones impacting her ability to produce or use insulin effectively. It is not caused by the father. It's vital for pregnant women to get screened for it, as complications can arise if not managed. Always consult your gynecologist.
