Is gabapentin good for tooth pain?

My toothache has been unbearable, even after visiting the dentist. My neighbor suggested taking Gabapentin as she said it helped her nerve pain. Is Gabapentin good for tooth pain?

My dentist once explained that gabapentin is generally for *nerve* pain, not typical toothache from a cavity or infection. For tooth pain, it's usually an anti-inflammatory or antibiotics, or treatment of the tooth itself. So, if your tooth pain is nerve-related, maybe, but otherwise unlikely. Best to see a dentist first.

Tooth pain can be excruciating, but also a sign of something serious like an infection that needs immediate attention. Relying on gabapentin for it without knowing the cause could delay proper treatment and lead to complications. Please see a dentist or doctor right away for diagnosis.

Ignoring tooth pain can lead to expensive root canals or extractions later. Instead of trying gabapentin, which isn't meant for regular toothaches, invest in a dental checkup. A small filling now is cheaper than major treatment later. Get it looked at properly.

Tooth pain is very uncomfortable. Gabapentin is usually for nerve pain, so for a toothache, it's best to consult a dentist to find out the reason and get the right help.

Oh, tooth pain is the worst! I've tried clove oil and salt water rinses, but for actual pain, you need to fix the root cause. Gabapentin is for nerve pain, not your standard cavity ache. You really need to see a dentist for diagnosis and proper treatment, don't just try to mask it.

I totally get it, tooth pain is awful and you just want relief! While gabapentin is for nerve pain, most toothaches are from cavities, gum issues, or infections, which need a dentist to fix the actual problem. It might just mask the pain temporarily without treating the cause.

No, gabapentin is not typically for regular tooth pain. Tooth pain usually means a dental issue like a cavity or an abscess, which needs a dentist. Gabapentin is for neuropathic pain, which is nerve-related. Different problems, different solutions. See a dentist.
