Is fruit sugar bad for diabetics?

My husband was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. We're trying to understand what he can and cannot eat. Is fruit sugar bad for diabetics, and should he avoid fruits with high sugar content?

Fruit sugar (fructose) is still sugar, haan. So, for diabetics, it needs to be managed. You can't just eat unlimited fruit thinking it's totally safe. My doctor said small portions of low-sugar fruits like berries or half an apple are okay. The fiber helps. But big sweet mangoes? No-no.

My son has juvenile diabetes, so I've become very particular about this. Fruit sugar, or fructose, still raises blood sugar, maybe a bit slower due to fiber, but it does. So it's not 'bad' in itself, but you have to count it in your carb intake and stick to recommended portions of fruits like berries, apples, or pears. Always check with your child's endocrinologist.

Even though I have high BP, not diabetes, I'm careful with all types of sugar, including fruit sugar. Too much sugar, natural or otherwise, isn't good for overall health or weight, which can affect BP. For diabetics, it's definitely something to monitor carefully with a doctor and regular checkups.

This confuses me so much! They say fruit is healthy, but then it has sugar, and for diabetics, sugar is bad. So is it actually bad or just in moderation? I get so anxious trying to figure out what's truly okay to eat. Does anyone else feel like this constant conflict about natural vs. processed sugars?

I totally get why this is confusing! Fruit sugar, also known as fructose, is still a type of sugar. For diabetics, any sugar needs to be managed. It's not inherently 'bad' in the same way processed sugars are, because fruit also has fiber and nutrients. But it does raise blood glucose, so moderation and choosing lower-sugar fruits is key. Don't overdo it!

Beta, phal toh bhagwaan ka prasad hai. Lekin jinko sugar hai, unko thoda dhyaan rakhna padta hai. Bahut zyada meethe phal se gurez karo. Ek ya do chote phal chalenge. Paani bhi bahut peeyo. Apne doctor se bhi pooch lena, woh sabse achha batayenge.
