Is fever a symptom of common cold?

I've had a runny nose and a bit of a cough since yesterday. This morning I woke up with a slight fever. I always thought a fever means something more serious, but is it also a common symptom of just a normal cold?

Yes, absolutely! A mild fever can totally be a symptom of a common cold. Your body's just warming up to fight off those pesky germs! 🤧 Keep yourself warm, drink lots of fluids, and get some rest! If it gets too high though, definitely check with a doc. ✨

Yes, it is quite common for a mild fever to accompany a common cold, especially in children, but adults can experience it too. It's usually a low-grade fever, which is your body's immune response fighting off the viral infection. Along with fever, you'd typically have other cold symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and cough. If the fever is high or lasts for more than a couple of days, it's always best to consult a doctor.

I always thought a cold was just a runny nose and cough. So, a fever also happens with it? Is it usually a very high fever, or just a slight one? I'm trying to understand for myself.

While a low-grade fever can occur with a cold, it's important to remember that fever is a general symptom for many illnesses. So don't self-diagnose based on just one symptom. If you have a fever and other cold symptoms, it's probably a cold, but if it's high or persistent, always see a doctor. Don't trust random opinions for medical conditions.

Oh, I was wondering the same thing the other day! Yeah, usually with a common cold, you can get a mild fever. It's not always super high, but enough to make you feel achy and tired. It's like your body turning up the heat to kill the virus. Definitely happens to me sometimes.

Yes, a mild fever can definitely be a symptom of a common cold. My mother used to say warm bath and good sleep helps. It shows your body is fighting the infection. However, if the fever is high or accompanied by severe symptoms, then I would always recommend consulting the doctor, as they know best.

Hey, don't stress too much! Yeah, a little bit of fever can totally come with a common cold. It's your body doing its thing to fight off the germs. Just make sure it's not super high and that you're taking rest. If you feel really unwell, then definitely ping your doctor, okay? 🤗
