Is fever a symptom of asthma?

My little brother has asthma and sometimes he gets a bit warm and cranky. My mother is always worried. Does asthma itself cause fever or is it always something else?

I get asthma sometimes, and I've never really associated it with fever, just shortness of breath and wheezing. Does anyone else with asthma also experience fever during an attack or flare-up? I'm worried if it's something I should be looking out for too.

Hey! From what I understand, asthma itself doesn't typically cause a fever. The main symptoms are usually breathing difficulties, coughing, and wheezing. If someone with asthma has a fever, it generally means there's an infection going on, like a cold or flu, which can then trigger an asthma flare-up. So, it's important to address both the infection and the asthma.

No, generally speaking, fever is not a typical symptom of asthma itself. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways, and its primary symptoms are wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. If a person with asthma develops a fever, it's usually an indication of an underlying infection, like a cold, flu, or bronchitis, which can often trigger or worsen asthma symptoms. It's important to consult a doctor to treat the infection and manage the asthma.

Asthma is a condition of the breath, and fever is the body's way of fighting. They are separate, though an infection causing fever can make breathing harder. Stay calm, listen to your body, and seek the doctor's guidance. A clear mind helps to heal the body.

No, a fever is usually a sign of an infection, not asthma. I once thought my cough and slight fever were just a cold, but it turned out to be a chest infection that complicated my breathing. If you have asthma and a fever, it's really important to get it checked by a doctor because an infection can make your asthma much worse. Don't ignore it.

Normally, asthma alone doesn't cause a fever; it's more about breathing issues. If you have asthma and also a fever, it's highly likely that you have an infection, like a cold or flu, which can then make your asthma worse. For mild fever, some ginger tea helps, but if it's high or combined with severe asthma symptoms, please see a doctor immediately.

Nah, dude, fever isn't a direct asthma symptom. Asthma is more about trouble breathing, wheezing. If someone with asthma gets a fever, it usually means they've also caught a cold or flu, which then makes their asthma act up. So, the fever is from the infection, not the asthma itself. Get it checked out by a doc if you have both.
