Is fasting good for pre diabetics?
My blood sugar levels are on the higher side, and my doctor said I'm pre-diabetic. I'm looking for ways to prevent full-blown diabetes. Can fasting help a pre-diabetic person, or is it too extreme?

In our family, we usually do traditional fasts, but when my HbA1c showed I was prediabetic, I consulted my doctor. He suggested a structured 14-hour intermittent fast instead of dry fasting. It has helped bring my fasting glucose back to normal.
I was recently diagnosed as prediabetic and I'm so scared of it turning into full diabetes. I started 16-hour fasting but I feel very shaky and weak by the 14th hour. Did anyone else experience this initial weakness?
Between my late-night shifts and lack of sleep, my prediabetes diagnosis was a wake-up call. Fasting helps control my glucose, but honestly, staying away from midnight snacks is the hardest battle of my life!
I was prediabetic last year at 24. I started doing 16:8 intermittent fasting and completely cut out sweet chai and sodas. Got my tests done last week and my HbA1c is down to 5.4. It definitely works if you are disciplined.
I totally get it, finding out you are prediabetic can be very stressful and makes you want to change your diet overnight. Fasting is a great tool to improve insulin sensitivity, but please start slow and do not starve yourself.
Fasting gently cleanses the body and calms the mind. Treat this prediabetes phase as a gentle reminder to care for your health. Stay positive, eat natural foods in moderation, and keep walking daily.
Along with prediabetes, I also have high BP. Fasting has helped me drop some weight and improve my insulin levels, but lifestyle change is a package deal. You must do regular medical checkups to monitor both parameters.
