Is fasting good for diabetes?

My doctor advised me to control my diet for diabetes. I've been thinking about trying intermittent fasting. Is fasting generally considered a good approach for managing diabetes?

Fasting try toh kar sakte ho, par doctor se pooch ke hi karna, haan? Sugar ekdum se drop ho gayi toh lene ke dene pad jayenge. Apni medicines ke hisab se planning zaroori hai.

It can help some people, but you must ask your doctor first because fasting can cause dangerous drops in blood sugar.

If you plan to try intermittent fasting for diabetes, buy a good glucometer first to check your levels at home. Testing daily is cheaper than getting admitted for hypoglycemia. Plan your test strips budget accordingly.

Honestly, staying without food for 16 hours sounds like torture when you love butter chicken! But jokes apart, if you have diabetes, fasting can cause major sugar crashes. I would rather eat small, healthy portions throughout the day.

I was researching this yesterday because my dad has diabetes. Some articles say intermittent fasting improves insulin sensitivity, but others say it is risky. It seems highly dependent on what medications you are taking.
