Is fasting good for diabetes 2?

I have type 2 diabetes and my friend keeps telling me to try fasting, saying it helped his brother. Is fasting actually beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes, or could it be risky?

Fasting can help give your digestive system rest and improve insulin, but you must be very careful. Drinking warm fenugreek water in the morning is a good home remedy, but if your sugar level spikes or drops too low, please see your doctor immediately.

Please be very cautious. I tried a 16-hour fast for my type 2 diabetes last year without adjusting my insulin, and my sugar dropped so low I almost fainted. You must consult your doctor before changing your eating schedule.

I know how exhausting it is to constantly worry about what to eat and when to eat with type 2 diabetes. Fasting sounds like an easy fix, but the fear of sugar crashes is very real. Give yourself grace and work with a kind dietician.

I totally get it, trying to manage Type 2 diabetes feels like a full-time job and you want to try everything to fix it. Fasting can indeed help some people lower insulin resistance, but it's not for everyone. Please take it slow and be safe.

Fasting has been a part of our traditional lifestyle for ages to cleanse the body, but with diabetes, you must listen to your physical self. Keep a positive mind, do gentle walks, and take care of your body's daily needs.

Fasting might help your insulin, but it definitely makes me a very grumpy person to be around! If you are going to try it, just make sure you don't break the fast with a plate of hot jalebis. Keep it steady!
