Is eye twitching a sign of stroke?

My mother recently had a minor stroke, and now she sometimes complains of her eye twitching. I'm worried if this could be related. Is eye twitching a common or serious sign of a stroke, or something to be concerned about after one?

I totally get it, it is so easy to panic when your eye starts twitching out of nowhere. But please relax, simple eye twitching is almost never a sign of a stroke and is usually just due to tiredness or too much caffeine. Take a deep breath!

Isolated eyelid twitching is rarely associated with a stroke. However, if the twitching spreads to other facial muscles or is accompanied by neurological symptoms like vision changes or loss of balance, you must seek immediate medical evaluation.

Our bodies often twitch when there is excess mental stress or fatigue. Try practicing some gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom and give your eyes a break from screens. It is highly unlikely to be anything serious, just rest your mind.

Look, a stroke has major symptoms like face drooping, arm weakness, and slurred speech. Simple eye twitching is just your eyelid muscles reacting to fatigue or stress. Go sleep for 8 hours and it will stop.

In most cases, eye twitching is harmless and resolves on its own within a few days with proper rest. However, if you experience sudden numbness, difficulty speaking, or weakness in your body, please go to the emergency room immediately.
