Is eye stroke dangerous?

My elderly neighbor suddenly experienced blurred vision and the doctor said it was an 'eye stroke'. I've never heard of it before. Is an eye stroke a very dangerous condition, like a brain stroke, or is it less severe?

Yes, it is extremely serious and can lead to permanent loss of vision if not treated immediately. Please do not wait to see if it gets better, go to an eye hospital right away.

Honestly, it is very dangerous. I had a partial blockage last year and if I hadn't rushed to the emergency room within two hours, I would have lost sight in my left eye. Please take this as a major emergency.

Actually, while researching this, I found out that an eye stroke is caused by blocked blood vessels in the retina. It is a medical emergency just like a brain stroke, so immediate doctor consultation is absolutely necessary.

Please don't make the mistake of ignoring any sudden blurriness or blind spots like I did. I delayed going to the doctor and ended up with permanent damage. Get it checked immediately.
