Is excessive urination a sign of kidney disease?

I've noticed I'm going to the bathroom to urinate much more frequently than before, both during the day and at night. My friend told me that can sometimes point to kidney problems. Is excessive urination a common sign of kidney disease?

Please try not to worry too much, but do make sure to get this checked. Frequent urination can be due to many simple reasons like drinking more water or a mild UTI, but a doctor can guide you best.

Yes, this can be an early sign of kidney issues or diabetes. I ignored my frequent urination for a long time until my kidney function dropped significantly. Please do not delay; get a kidney function test and urine routine done immediately.

I was actually reading about this yesterday. Frequent urination is a classic sign of diabetes too, as the body tries to flush out excess sugar, which puts pressure on the kidneys. It is quite interesting how the body works, but definitely get a medical opinion.

My grandmother used to say that drinking too much barley water can sometimes cause this, but we should always trust modern diagnostics first. Frequent urination can point to diabetes or kidney load. Please visit a good nephrologist or physician to get a proper evaluation.

I agree with the others. It is highly recommended to get a urine culture and kidney function test done to rule out any infections or deeper issues.

Between getting up four times to pee and checking on my crying baby, I have forgotten what sleep feels like. But seriously, if you are running to the washroom constantly, it could be a UTI or something else. Don't lose sleep over Google searches, just see a doctor.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to search for symptoms online and see kidney disease pop up. I went through the same panic last year, but it turned out to be just a common urinary tract infection. Take a deep breath and book a simple urine test; it will help calm your mind.
