Is excessive gas a sign of liver problems?

I've been experiencing a lot of gas and bloating recently, which is quite unusual for me. My brother had some liver issues a few years back, and now I'm worried. Can excessive gas be a sign of liver problems?

Gas is usually just due to diet, but chronic liver issues can sometimes cause bloating and digestive changes. To be absolutely safe, you should get a Liver Function Test (LFT) and consult a doctor. It is always better to diagnose things early.

Honestly, with my lack of sleep and random eating habits, I am basically a walking gas cylinder. Most of the time it is just bad digestion or too much tea, not liver failure. But if you have stomach pain or yellow eyes, go see a doctor instead of reading scary things online.

My gastroenterologist explained that while gas is mostly from fermentation in the gut, a struggling liver can affect bile production, leading to poor digestion and bloating. If your gas is accompanied by jaundice, dark urine, or abdominal swelling, those are serious red flags. Please see a specialist for a proper ultrasound.

I struggle with terrible bloating and gas due to my PCOS and insulin issues, so it can be caused by many hormonal and digestive factors. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about liver issues right away, but it's always smart to run a basic blood panel through your doctor just to be sure.

Usually, heavy dinners and sitting all day at work cause this. Try eating light, home-cooked food and walking for 15 minutes after meals. If the gas still doesn't get better after a week, then go to a local clinic for a checkup.

Don't panic about liver failure first and stress yourself out. A basic liver function test (LFT) costs around 500-800 rupees at local labs and will tell you the truth. Plan a doctor's visit first before buying any expensive health supplements or liver syrups online.
