I have just started reading about this because my mother has really stiff fingers in the morning. Does soaking them in warm water with epsom salt actually give long-term relief, or is it just for a few minutes?

Actually magnesium gets absorbed slightly through the skin which helps relax tight muscles. I track my joint recovery after heavy workouts on my smartwatch, and a warm epsom soak definitely reduces stiffness scores. It is worth a try for hand pain, just keep the water comfortably warm.

I have been dealing with osteoarthritis in my right hand for five years now. Epsom salt warm soaks are great for temporary relief, especially before sleeping. But honestly, you must do the finger stretching exercises your doctor gave you, otherwise salt alone won't keep the joints mobile.

I totally get it, hand pain makes even holding a tea cup so hard. It is really frustrating to deal with this daily. Warm epsom salt water brings so much comfort to tired joints, please try it for some peace of mind.

I have tried everything from mustard oil massages to turmeric milk for my hand stiffness. Epsom salt water dips are definitely one of the better home remedies that actually soothe the pain fast. Just dont use very hot water as it can dry out your skin too much.

Yes, it definitely helps soothe the stiffness. Just soak your hands for 15 minutes in warm water mixed with a cup of epsom salt.
