Is eosinophilic asthma an autoimmune disease?

I was recently diagnosed with eosinophilic asthma, which sounds a bit complicated. My doctor mentioned it's a specific type. Is eosinophilic asthma considered an autoimmune disease?

I have been managing eosinophilic asthma for five years. It is actually classified as a severe inflammatory disease driven by white blood cells, not strictly an autoimmune disease. Staying consistent with your inhalers is the best way to handle it.

While it involves a hyperactive immune system, it is not technically an autoimmune condition where the body attacks itself. Instead, it is an overreaction of eosinophils to triggers. Keep a close check on your blood counts and consult a pulmonologist.

My lungs behave like they have a mind of their own sometimes! Eosinophilic asthma is more of an inflammatory response than autoimmune, but honestly, the treatment is quite similar. Just take your meds and keep your inhaler handy.

I track my breathing patterns and allergy triggers daily. Eosinophilic asthma is considered an immunological disorder because of the eosinophil white blood cells, but not autoimmune. Monitoring your peak flow can really help manage it.

It was so scary when I first heard this term, I thought my immune system was failing me. But learning that it's just a type of asthma and not a systemic autoimmune disease brought me a lot of relief. You are not alone in this.

I always try ginger tea and turmeric for asthma relief, but for eosinophilic asthma, proper medical inhalers are a must. It is an immune-related inflammation, so home remedies alone won't cure it. Do follow your specialist's advice.

I totally get it, trying to understand these complex lung conditions can be so overwhelming. It is not an autoimmune disease, just a specific type of asthma with high white blood cells. I hope you find the right treatment plan soon.

My doctor cleared this up for me last month. It is an inflammatory asthma, not autoimmune. Once they started me on targeted biologic therapy, my breathing improved drastically. There is hope, so don't lose heart.
