Is eczema related to gut health?

I keep hearing that a lot of health issues stem from the gut, including skin problems. I have chronic eczema and I'm trying to find alternative ways to manage it. Is eczema related to gut health? Should I change my diet?

I have dealt with eczema for years and honestly, my skin got much better when I improved my gut health. Drinking warm water with lemon and eating homemade curd daily worked wonders for my digestion and skin. It is definitely worth trying alongside your medical treatments.

I am just learning about this and I'm a bit confused. Does taking probiotics or eating curd actually help reduce eczema itching, or is it just a general wellness tip? I would love to hear if anyone has tried this.

Yes, there is clear scientific evidence supporting the gut-skin axis connection. Inflammatory foods can compromise your gut lining, which often triggers eczema flare-ups. Focus on a high-fiber diet, but definitely consult a dermatologist for direct skin treatment.

Beta, our elders always said that what happens in the stomach shows on the skin. Keeping your digestion clean by avoiding heavy, greasy foods will naturally soothe your skin irritation. But do not neglect the doctor's advice for proper skin ointments.

While there is a link between gut microbiome and skin health, please don't try to self-treat severe eczema with just diet changes or random supplements. Go to a certified dermatologist to get a proper diagnosis and prescription first.

Haan na, it is very closely related actually. Whenever my digestion gets upset or I eat too much junk food, my skin immediately starts itching the next day. Keeping the stomach happy really helps, so eat simple food.

Yes, my mother always insists on drinking buttermilk to keep the body cool and gut healthy during skin flares. It does help soothe the body. However, for proper eczema management, consulting a specialist is the most reliable way.
