Is eczema bacterial or fungal?

I've been dealing with these irritating skin patches for a while, and my friend suggested it might be eczema. Is eczema caused by bacteria or fungi, or is it not related to either of those?

Actually it is neither bacterial nor fungal, but a chronic skin barrier issue. Some people say cutting down on processed foods and keeping a clean plant-based diet helps calm the inflammation, though you must discuss any big diet changes with a nutritionist first. Don't self-treat with random anti-fungal powders.

Honestly, even I got super anxious thinking it was some bad fungal infection that would spread everywhere. Did anyone else here also feel like their skin was burning and got scared it was something contagious? Please let me know how you guys managed to calm down your mind and your skin.

It is not a fungus or bacteria, it is just an internal flare-up of the skin. For mild dry patches, applying pure aloe vera gel right from the plant can soothe the itching nicely. But if your skin starts oozing, gets very hot, or painful, please see a dermatologist immediately as that needs medical treatment.

Listen, don't stress too much about it! It's not some nasty bacteria or fungus, just your skin being extra sensitive and dry. Just keep yourself hydrated, use a super gentle moisturizer, and you will be completely fine. Let's go to a doc together if you want to get it checked!

It is neither of those. Eczema is a non-contagious inflammatory skin condition, so don't worry about catching it or spreading it.
