Is eczema atopic dermatitis?

I've always had very sensitive skin, and lately I'm getting these itchy, dry patches. Someone suggested it might be eczema, but I've also heard the term atopic dermatitis. Is eczema just another name for atopic dermatitis?

Haan na, actually dono ek hi cheez hai. Atopic dermatitis thoda medical term hai aur eczema hum aam bhasha mein bolte hain. Ghabrane ki bilkul baat nahi hai.

My doctor diagnosed me with atopic dermatitis, but he usually just calls it eczema during our chats. For me, keeping my skin constantly hydrated has been the key to managing it.

Yes, they are the same. For mild symptoms, simple remedies like a cold compress or aloe vera work great. However, if you see the skin cracking or if there's any yellow oozing, please see a doctor immediately.

I remember feeling so overwhelmed when I first saw 'atopic dermatitis' on my prescription card. It sounded so serious, but learning it's just the medical term for eczema really helped calm my anxiety.

I totally get how confusing all these different medical names can be when you are looking for answers. Yes, atopic dermatitis is just the technical name for the most common type of eczema. You are not alone in this.

Yes, they are essentially the same, but it's always best to ask your dermatologist clearly during your visit. Whenever I go to the clinic, I write down my questions so I don't forget to get them clarified by the doctor.

Yes, they refer to the same dry skin condition. In our days, we simply called it dry itch. Applying a little warm coconut oil after your bath helps keep the skin soft and reduces the dryness naturally.
