Is eczema a bacterial infection?

My cousin's child has eczema, and they're wondering if it's a bacterial infection that needs antibiotics. Can eczema be considered a bacterial infection, or is it a different kind of skin condition? We're a bit confused.

I totally understand how stressful it is when your skin starts flaring up and you worry it might be a bacterial infection. Eczema itself is actually just an inflammatory skin condition, not an infection. However, scratched skin can get infected, so try not to scratch it.

Haan, eczema bacterial infection nahi hota hai. Ye basically dry skin aur allergy ki wajah se hota hai. Par haan, skin ko dry mat hone dena, acche se moisturize rakhna, na.

No bro, eczema is not a bacterial infection. It's an allergy-like skin issue. But if you scratch the itchy patches till they bleed, bacteria can get in there and cause an infection. Just use a heavy moisturizer.

Eczema is not a bacterial infection; it is a condition caused by a weak skin barrier and immune sensitivity. While the condition itself isn't infectious, secondary bacterial infections can happen if the skin cracks. Keep it clean and hydrated.

Eczema is inflammatory, not bacterial. I find that regular light exercise and yoga help lower my stress, which greatly reduces my eczema flare-ups. Just make sure to shower and moisturize immediately after sweating.
