Is dry socket pain immediate?

My tooth was extracted a couple of days back. Initially, there wasn't much pain, but kal se thoda zyada ho raha hai. Someone mentioned 'dry socket' and now I'm wondering, does that kind of pain come on immediately after an extraction, or can it start later?

From what I have heard, dry socket takes a few days to develop as the blood clot dissolves. Keep your mouth clean and avoid using straws. Hope you feel better.

It is not immediate. The severe throbbing pain starts around the third or fourth day after extraction. Don't suffer, call your dentist and get the medicated dressing done.

No, it is like a villain who waits! It usually hits you after 2-3 days when you think you are safely eating biryani again.

It takes about 3 days. I got so tempted by spicy street food and used a straw, which dislodged the clot. Huge mistake, the pain was terrible. Stick to soup!

It usually manifests after a couple of days once the anesthesia completely clears. Stay calm, drink cold water, and let the healing happen gently with proper doctor's care.

Usually, the pain begins 2 to 4 days after the tooth extraction. If you feel sudden severe pain radiating to your ear, go back to your dental clinic immediately.
