Is diabetes autosomal dominant or recessive?

My parents and grandparents all have diabetes. I'm trying to understand the inheritance pattern. Can someone explain, is diabetes autosomal dominant or recessive?

Yaar, I'm not a doc so can't say about dominant/recessive. But I believe lifestyle is key. Even if there's a family history, being active, like daily walks or some light exercise, and a good diet can help a lot. Of course, check with your doctor first if you have existing conditions.

Hello there! This sounds like a very specific genetic question. From what I've heard, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes have complex genetics, not always a simple dominant or recessive pattern like some other conditions. If you're concerned about family history, a genetic counselor might be helpful.

This kind of complex info can be really scary and overwhelming when you're dealing with diabetes. It's okay to feel confused. Just try to focus on what you can control, like diet and monitoring, and let the doctors explain the heavy genetics part.

Beta, these medical terms are very new for us. In our times, they would just say 'khoon mein shakar badh gayi hai'. It's important to understand your body. Whatever the reason, keep your diet simple, eat neem leaves, methi dana. But for proper genetic queries, doctor hi bataenge.

Such detailed genetic testing can be quite expensive, I've heard. For most people, doctors focus on blood sugar levels and symptoms. If there's a strong family history and you can afford it, maybe a specialist can guide you. Otherwise, regular checkups are more practical.

OMG, that's like, next level biology stuff! I barely passed genetics in school haha. If you're serious about this, def ask a proper doctor or even a genetic counselor. They'll have the actual answers.

Hey, don't stress too much about getting into such technical details unless your doctor specifically asks you to. The main thing is to manage it well. If you have concerns about family history, maybe a general chat with your doc first?

Genetics of diabetes are complex. It's not a simple dominant/recessive pattern for most common types (Type 1 or 2). There are specific rare forms that follow those patterns, but for general understanding, it's polygenic. Consult a genetic specialist if you need deep insight.

I can't say anything about dominant or recessive as I'm not a doctor. But in my family, it seems to run, so I'm always careful. My personal experience says if it's in your family, you need to be extra vigilant with diet and exercise.

Oh, this is such a deep question! I always worry about these things, especially if it runs in the family. It's really confusing. I hope you get a clear answer from a medical professional, because understanding the genetics can help with planning, I think.

Haha, sounds like you're diving deep into the medical textbooks! Honestly, my genes are probably just 'dominant for loving biryani.' For actual genetic info on diabetes, better ask a doc; they're the real experts, not us internet janta!
