Is ddd arthritis?

My mother-in-law has been complaining about joint pain for a while, especially in her knees. Someone told her it might be 'ddd arthritis.' Is there really such a thing or is it some kind of new term?

Hey! Don't stress too much about the name. DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease) isn't exactly arthritis, but they are related because both involve wear and tear in joints or spine. Think of it more as your spinal discs wearing out, which can cause pain and sometimes lead to arthritis in the spine. Best to get it checked by a physio or ortho.

No, DDD is not arthritis, it's degenerative disc disease, but both involve joint pain. See a doctor for a diagnosis.

Nah, not exactly. DDD is about your spinal discs getting old or worn out, causing pain. Arthritis is more about inflammation in joints. They both cause pain in joints and stuff, but the root cause is a bit different. My uncle has DDD, he says it's mostly about managing the pain and staying active.

Haan na, log sometimes confuse karte hain. DDD alag hai, yeh spinal discs ke wear and tear ka problem hai. Arthritis joint inflammation hota hai. So it's not the same, but it can cause similar kind of pain. Doctor ko dikhao, they will tell you best.

For my diabetes, I'm careful with diet to manage inflammation. DDD isn't arthritis in the traditional sense, but both involve chronic pain and can benefit from a healthy lifestyle. DDD is about disc degeneration in the spine. Consult an orthopedic doctor or a spine specialist for proper diagnosis and management.

Don't ignore back pain or joint issues, seriously. I ignored a nagging pain once and it became a bigger problem. DDD needs proper diagnosis by a doctor, preferably an orthopaedic surgeon. It's not the same as typical arthritis, but it can be debilitating if not managed. Get it checked.
