Is dandruff eczema?
My cousin has terrible eczema and also a lot of dandruff. I heard someone say that dandruff is a type of eczema. Is that true or just a misunderstanding?

Beta, sometimes it can look similar but usually, they are different things. For simple dandruff, my nani used to say curd and lemon pack helps. But if it's red and very itchy, better to show a doctor, haan.
Not exactly, dear. Dandruff is mostly flakes, while eczema can be more inflamed and red. My mother always said to oil your hair regularly to prevent dryness, but if it feels like proper eczema, definitely consult a dermatologist. They can tell you exactly.
From my experience, they are distinct. Dandruff is typically caused by a fungus and is flaky, while eczema is an inflammatory skin condition that can affect the scalp too, causing redness and intense itching. A good dermatologist can easily differentiate and give you the right treatment. Don't self-diagnose!
OMG, I wish I knew! My scalp feels like a war zone sometimes, flakey one day, itchy another. Is it dandruff, eczema, or just me being sleep-deprived? All I know is it's annoying AF. Guess a doctor visit is on my never-ending to-do list.

Haan, log confuse ho jaate hain. But I don't think they are the same thing. Dandruff toh dry flakes hote hain na, but eczema mein skin kaafi irritated ho jaati hai. Better to check with a doc instead of guessing, yaar.
