Is dandruff communicable?

My little sister has dandruff, and I'm worried about getting it from her. Is dandruff something that can be passed from person to person?

Oh God, I hope not! My boss has terrible dandruff, and if it was communicable, I'd be covered in it by now, after all those long meetings. No, seriously, I think it's not. I've shared combs before, and never got it from anyone. Thank goodness, one less thing to worry about when I'm already sleep deprived!

Haha, thankfully no! Imagine if it was like a cold, spreading through sneezes! You can't 'catch' dandruff like you catch a craving for a good vada pav. It's usually about your own scalp's balance, not something you pick up from others.

No, absolutely not! I just recovered from a bad bout of dandruff, and my dermatologist confirmed it's not contagious. You can't 'catch' it from someone or spread it by sharing things. It's usually caused by an overgrowth of a fungus already on your scalp.

This was a big concern for me with my kids! I was worried if they shared combs or towels, it would spread. But our pediatrician reassured us that dandruff isn't communicable. It's a common scalp condition, not something you can pass on from person to person. So, no need to panic.

Absolutely not. My doctor at Fortis clearly stated that dandruff is not communicable. It's an internal condition related to your scalp's oil glands and a naturally occurring yeast. There's no risk of passing it to others through contact. Always ask a medical professional for clarity on such concerns.
