My grandmother says dandruff is caused by some kind of fungus. Is that what it actually is?

Oh God, I always thought it was just dry scalp! A fungus? That sounds kinda scary. Does that mean it can spread? Has anyone else felt this worried after finding out?

Yes, actually, a common type of dandruff is indeed caused by a yeast-like fungus called Malassezia. It's naturally present on the scalp, but sometimes it overgrows. It's always best to consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment options.

Haan, it's mostly due to a fungus called Malassezia globosa. Don't worry, it's very common and can be managed with anti-fungal shampoos. Just look for ingredients like zinc pyrithione or selenium sulfide. If it's severe, your doc can prescribe stronger ones.

Honestly, knowing it's a fungus made me feel really gross for a while, like I wasn't clean enough. It's tough when you're already self-conscious about flakes. Just know you're not alone if you feel that way.

Fungus, schmungus... pehle toh bas tel lagate the, ab pata nahi kya-kya research ho gaya hai. Bas sar khujana band ho jaaye, utna hi kaafi hai. Yeh fungus hi hoga jo itna pareshan karta hai.
