Is dandruff a disease?

My scalp is really itchy and flaky, and I've tried many shampoos. Is dandruff considered a disease that needs medical treatment?

Haan na, dandruff is not some major disease, it is just a very common scalp condition. Almost everyone gets it when the weather changes. Just use a normal medical shampoo and it will go away easily, don't worry.

Look, don't overcomplicate things by calling dandruff a 'disease'. It is just dry scalp or excess oil attracting a common fungus. Keep your hair clean, wash your pillowcases, and stop stressing over small things.

It is usually just a skin condition, but sometimes persistent dry scalp and hair fall can be related to thyroid issues. If your dandruff doesn't go away with anti-fungal shampoo, it is a good idea to get your thyroid levels checked and follow up with a doctor.

Arey baba, if dandruff was a disease, half of our college would be in the hospital! It is just dead skin falling off. Just buy a dandruff shampoo and enjoy your life.

I totally get it, when you see constant flakes and itching, it feels like you have some serious scalp infection. But trust me, it is not a dangerous disease at all. It is just a harmless condition that is super easy to treat.
